Exercise physiology services at Summit Rehabilitation are highly effective, focusing on restoring physical function, supporting injury self-management, and facilitating a safe and timely return to work. Our approach includes chronic condition management, ensuring that individuals receive tailored support for their needs. We are committed to clear and consistent communication, underpinned by an evidence-based approach to treatment. We also recognize that workplace injuries can impact a worker’s home life, which is why we offer home consultations and adopt a holistic approach to ensure a safe and sustainable return to both occupational and daily living activities. Additionally, we assist clients in navigating NDIS funding to support their rehabilitation journey.
To be eligible for a Medicare Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan, individuals must have a chronic medical condition or injury that has been present for six months or longer. Common examples include osteoarthritis, lower back pain, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, depression, and chronic respiratory conditions. This program supports chronic condition management by allowing eligible patients to receive a Medicare rebate for up to five allied health sessions per calendar year, which may include services like exercise physiology. Additionally, patients of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent may qualify for an extra five bulk-billed consultations under Medicare, which can also cover home consultations. Furthermore, those accessing NDIS funding may find additional support options available for their healthcare needs.
You can attend Summit Rehabilitation as a private patient without a referral from your GP. Many private health insurers provide rebates for services delivered by Accredited Exercise Physiologists, which may help reduce your out-of-pocket costs. This includes support for chronic condition management through exercise physiology. To be eligible for a rebate, your level of cover must include Exercise Physiology services, and the treatment must be directed toward the prevention, management, or improvement of a chronic condition or injury. Additionally, we offer home consultations and can assist with NDIS funding for eligible clients.
